What products does baobab offer?

We select quality products to meet the needs of our customers. These products are available through the Baobab network of branches with financing facilities and/or a dedicated credit called ``Baobab Energy Solutions`` for productive use products (solar freezers, hybrid generators...).

Where is baobab+ based?

Baobab+ was founded by Baobab Group as an independent entity and is now active in 6 African countries : Senegal, Madagascar, Ivory Coast, Mali, Nigeria and DR Congo.

Where do ripe leaves of Malagasy baobabs come from?

Young leaves of A. digitata and A. gregorii were collected from trees in wild populations. The ripe fruits of Malagasy baobabs were collected from natural populations and seeds were further germinated for fresh young leaves at a local nursery garden in Antananarivo (Madagascar).

How many baobab species are there?

How did Malagasy baobabs evolve?

Integrated genomic and ecological analyses revealed the reticulate evolution of baobabs, which eventually led to the species diversity seen today. Past population dynamics of Malagasy baobabs may have been influenced by both interspecific competition and the geological history of the island, especially changes in local sea levels.
